How difficult could it be for Piper to take advice from Cole, yet his advice was in her best
interest. This episode really showed how strong Piper and Leo’s love is. It also showed how the Elders always interfered
with fate. It tugged on our heart strings as Drake was getting ready to leave, but his love for Phoebe was growing. Didn’t
it make you want it to go on?
Drake added laughter and love to the show. His character was the best addition to Charmed since
Cole left. Bringing Cole back was also a terrific addition to this episode. Cole really tugged at Piper’s intuition
and forced her to trust in a person she loathed the most.
The costumes were outrageous for the 1800s, Billy Zane seemed right in his element. He brought
a new attitude to the show. He really deserved more time to build his character.
I think that storyline should have been developed more, as I really liked Phoebe with him. I
understand that Drake was brought in to help Phoebe find love and he accomplished that, but the way Alyssa and Billy acted
out their roles together, there was definitely chemistry. Billy made Alyssa's acting overall better. He filled in all of her
weak spots. Alyssa was not at her best during most of this episode, but when she was with Billy, she shaped right up. Alyssa
seemed bored with most of her parts. It was like she was just there doing a job, but not enjoying herself or remembering her
fans and trying to make them feel what Phoebe was feeling at the time.
Holly was at her best during this episode. She could make you cry if she was upset and she could
make you so angry that you wished you had the power to blow things up. She really got into the emotional side of her role,
and made the audience feel that. This episode was more of an emotional one and Holly knows exactly how to play that part.
Rose did not have enough camera time to really show how well she acts. Once again, Rose seemed
more like a guest star than a starring role. The storyline seemed to give her a backseat role. This does not challenge Rose,
who could be a great actress if she is challenged.
Julian, even though he had a small part, brought back some old feelings and memories. He played
the lost soul part wonderfully. Julian enhanced Holly’s acting in her emotional struggles. They definitely made the
audience feel how uncomfortable it was to give or take advice from the one person they loathed.
All in all, this episode kept the audience on the edge of their seat till the end. The writers
are on to something here, I think if they follow this way of writing, Charmed will have a strong future.
