EXT. Alley - Day
Paige orbs into the alley with Piper, a bit disoriented, "Weren't we just here? That
mattress looks strangely familiar." Piper: "Probably cause we saw one just like it in that last alley, and the one before
that and in the hundred and fifty alleys before that. All start to look alike after a while. Now come on, we have yet another
Paragon of Good to protect." She starts towards the alley entrance and Paige follows. "Hey, slow down - still recovering from
almost being burnt to a crisp by that last demon. Why the rush?" Piper: "Only that I'd like to be home before Leo's recycled,
or worse." Paige: "Piper, relax, when the Elders decide Leo's punishment, they'll tell you." Piper: "Well this waiting business
sucks. Leo was an Avatar for less time than it's taking them to make up their stupid minds about his punishment."" Paige:
""f it helps any, I hear when a jury takes time deliberating, they normally go easy on the defendant." Piper: "Except Elders
aren't normal. And Leo becoming an Avatar was kinda major. Where the hell's that innocent anyway? If she stopped to help another
homeless person I'm out of here." Paige pulls Piper back into the alley, "Okay, miss edgy, you gotta chill, Phoebe's premonition
said she'd be here, and all this negativity's giving me a headache." Piper says she's sorry, she's just worried about Leo.
Paige assures he she won't lose Leo and she has no need to worry, and that, in fact, they should be worrying about Phoebe,
since they know she's going to lose her man tonight. Piper: "Wait a sec, HER man? Phoebe didn't tell me she'd fallen for Drake."
Paige: "Didn't tell me, either…but come on, cute, funny, smart, and destined to leave…he's her type to a T." Piper:
"That's not fair, Phoebe doesn't mean to date dead end guys…it's not like she could know ahead of time…" Paige:
"Oh no? Let's see…Jason, everyone knows there's not future in dating the boos. Leslie, in town for three months…it's
a no-brainer." Piper; "Though he was adorable." Paige, continuing, "And of course, there was Cole - which brings us back to
Drake, another soon-to-be dead ex-demon. Seeing a pattern here? How many times can a girl's heart be broken before she cries
uncle?" Piper: "So you think she's…" she spots something and looks, but Paige doesn't notice as Piper finishes, "…the
innocent" Paige: "Hardly. Phoebe's responsible for her bad choices." Piper; "No, behind you…the Innocent!" Paige turns
to see Suzanne entering the alley. Seeing women hanging out, Suzanne kindly hands them a flyer, "Hey, if you women need a
hot meal and a place to crash, there's a…" as she continues, Piper; "Oh for God sake…" She freezes Suzanne just
as a male Thorn Demon shimmers in to attack, but Piper blows him up before he can. Piper, continuing, "You really think Phoebe
could lose faith in finding love?" Paige: "I think she's started to already….Okay, who invited them?" They're surprised
as three more Thorn Demons, one female, shimmer in. Flyers scatter as Piper shoves the frozen Suzanne behind a trash pile
as a fireball explodes the wall above them. Paige, calling for it…"Mattress!" She orbs the mattress to intercept another
fireball and debris rains down as the demons prepare to fire again. Thinking quickly, Paige notices…"Ugly metal gizmo!"
and orbs a rusty metal bed rail from the trash pile, skewering one of the demons, causing his vanquish. Simultaneously, Piper
stands to face the female Thorn, only it spits a slew of small thorns, like machine gun fire, at her. One makes contact, imbedding
itself in Piper's wrist. Piper: "Crap…" Paige: "Not to mention yuck." Piper yanks out the thorn and turns to Paige,
"Did we KNOW the female spits thorns?" Paige, cringes, guilty, "Must'a missed that little tidbit." And the two of them orb
out.
INT. Manor - Dining Room - Day
As they orb in, Paige is concerned, telling Piper she should have Leo look
at the wound. Piper says it's nothing…but after seeing Paige's stern look, "Fine. LEO?" She starts for the stairs just
as Leo steps down onto the landing, in Elder robes, and Piper stops cold. Leo: "The Elders have reached a verdict. I have
to go."

The sisters
and Leo as before, Piper, almost hyperventilating, "NOW? You can't leave right now. What about the boys? They're at Magic
School, you can't just leave without…" Leo: "Honey, I'll be back. This isn't goodbye, I'm simply going up to find out
what my penance is. You're the one who told me the Elders aren't going to just yank me away…" Piper: "Yeah, well, that
was before I had all this time to stress about it." Leo: "Look, at least now we'll know, right? The waiting's been killing
us." Piper; "You're right. I'm just…scared." Leo: "Me, too…we've been through worse, Piper, but we always find
our way back together, don't we? Just have faith." With a gentle kiss, he orbs out, leaving Piper sharing a worried look with
Paige.
EXT. Golden Gate Bridge - Day
Leo, aghast at hearing…"What do you mean I'm not going back??" The
Elders, Sandra and Odin, explain. "You have to understand, we don't know where your true destiny lies - if it's with us, or
with your family." Odin: "What we do know, however is that everything that's happened - Gideon, the Avatars - comes from your
trying to balance both worlds." Leo: "So, what, you're choosing for me?" Sandra; "No. We're going to let you choose. You'll
be made mortal. Stripped of your powers and memory. You'll then be…relocated." Odin: "If the love you share with Piper
is so strong that you are drawn back to her despite all the odds, then you will remain with her forever." Sandra: "To live
a fully human life, without interference from us ever again." Leo: "What if I never find her, then what?" Odin: "Then we'll
know you belong with us and we'll welcome your return." Leo: "And what about Piper…the boys?" Odin: "You'll never see
them again." Leo: "Are you out of your minds?" Sandra: "Your path will lead you to one or the other Leo." Leo, panicking,
"No, you can't do this. I WON'T do it." Odin: "Unfortunately, you don't have a choice." Sandra: "Leo, you have to know this
isn't about punishment - it's about helping you find your way." Leo: "But if I end up with Piper, how do I know you won't
butt back in eventually anyway - or if I chose the Elders, what makes you think I won't leave someday? By falling from grace?"
Odin: "No Elder's ever done that before." Leo: "You take my family away and I will." Sandra: "We're not taking anything away
from you, Leo, you'll be making the choice, not us. Don't you see? This is the only way - your heart will guide you to your
true destiny, be it love or the greater good. And whichever way it turns out, we'll honor it - as you must, too." Leo, not
liking it, "Okay, fine…but first let me tell Piper I'm going." Odin: "That's not the way it works." Leo: "Look, I said
I'd take your damn test - but I'm going to day goodbye to my family first." Leo orbs out, only to be frozen by Odin, "No.
The test begins now." With a wave of his hand there's a brilliant bright white light and then…
EXT. Highway Crossroads
- Bainville, Montana - Day
A cloud of dust churns up from the highway and as it settles, we see Leo. Dazed and confused,
having landed smack in the middle of the intersection. The Elder robes have been replaced with a plaid shirt, jeans and work
boots. In the distance, a truck leave a trail of dust as it comes towards Leo. But he still has no idea who he is or where
he's at. He looks at the signs, Interstate 65 North and Interstate 34 West, and tries to get his bearings as the truck comes
closer. He turns to see it, but is frozen. The truck driver is having difficulty with his cell phone but looks up just in
time to swerve and get out of the way. Unfortunately, he loses control and the vehicle flies off the side of the road and
down an embankment. Without hesitation, Leo heads off towards it. At the truck, Leo yanks open the door and pulls the injured
man out. Smoke pours from the engine and Leo warns, "We gotta get you out of here." He throws the driver's arm around his
neck and runs just as the pick up explodes. Thankfully, they were far enough away, but Leo keeps running with the man. Suddenly,
we see into Leo's mind…Flames, gunfire, soldiers scattering. Mortar explodes nearby and Leo, head down, is running.
There's a man with a bad leg wound and a cry of pain brings us back to reality. Leo, shaken, not sure what it means, snaps
a small branch from a tree then grabs the driver's, Dale's, arm. Dale: "Ow! Wait, stop…hey, what are you doing? Do you
have any idea what you're…mmmfff…" Leo shoves the small branch into Dale's mouth. "Bite down." Then, with one
foot against Dale's ribs, Leo gives a swift yank and Dale grimaces in pain for a brief second as the shoulder snaps back into
place. Leo doesn't miss a beat, and rips off a strip from his shirt. Dale spits the stick out. "How'd you know how to do that?"
He grimaces again as Leo expertly wraps the leg wound. Leo: "It's not too bad. Might've severed your tibialus anterior…but
they can sew that back up." Dale, talking through the pain, "Looks like I got lucky for once, almost running over a doctor...you
are a doctor, right?" Leo: "I…I'm not sure. I don't know."
INT. Manor - Dining Room - Day
Phoebe:
"What do you mean you don't know?" Phoebe and Drake are bundled in parkas, picnic basket in hand, fresh from a visit to the
Swiss Alps. Piper, clearly anxious, distracts herself by arranging flowers in a vase. Paige: "Leo left to talk to the Elders
this morning and we haven't heard from him since." Phoebe: "That's crazy…we've been to the Alps and back…how long
does it take to hand down a sentence?" Drake: "In the Elder's defense, when you live for an eternity, your sense of time does
get a bit skewed." Piper: "Well, we're human, and this is torture." Phoebe: "This is ridiculous." She looks up and yells,
"Hey - we need some answers here! What the hell did you do with Leo??" Paige: "I tried that." Phoebe: "Well I'm not saving
another innocent if they don't tell us where he is." She turns her head upwards again, "You hear that? And I mean NOW!" Sandra
orbs in alone, "Don't worry, Leo's fine…" Piper asks where he is. Sandra tells her the short version, clearly adding
that they dumped him "Somewhere you'll never find him." Phoebe: "Are you saying Leo has no memory of Piper, his kids…Anything??"
Sandra re-phrases what she said. Piper: "This is crazy - who do you think you are to wipe someone's mind? This is my life,
our life…" Sandra: "Leo wasn't just anyone - he was an Elder. By choice. He knew all that that entailed." Piper: "Just
like he knew what being a husband and father meant - and he would never abandon his family." Sandra: "This wasn't an easy
decision for us, we love and need Leo Up There are much as you do down here. He wasn't killed or recycled - I hope you can
find comfort in that." Piper, in utter disbelief: "I'm sorry?…You just took the love of my life from me and you tell
me to find comfort?? You got a lot of nerve, lady. I don't want to see you, or any of your kind EVER AGAIN. We're done with
you, you hear that? DONE! Now get the hell out of here!" Sandra; "Don't give up hope…" Piper: "OUT!!" Sandra orbs out,
leaving with no choice. Piper: "I give up…" She heads into the living room and plops down on the couch.

Phoebe and Paige enter to rally Piper and Drake lingers in the background, curiously
interested. Phoebe: "I know it seems bad, Piper, but you can't give up. Leo's out there somewhere - there's lots of things
we can do to find him." Piper; "Yeah? Like what?" Phoebe: "Well…scrying for one…scrying's always good…only
Leo doesn't have powers anymore, so that won't work. But we could…we could put his picture on a milk carton or…or…or
maybe it's not meant to be." Paige: "PHOEBE!? THIS is a rah-rah speech? We're supposed to be cheering her up, not shoving
her off the ledge!" Phoebe: "Well, maybe I'm all rah-rah'ed out. Maybe the universe is sending us a message about all our
love lives here. I mean look at our history. Has any Halliwell woman ever held on to her man?" Paige; "Of course." Piper:
"Name one." Paige: "Well, uh….I can't. Guess that explains why Phoebe's got such a bad track record with men, too."
Phoebe: "Hey…it's not just me, hon, you fell for Kyle, who then died." Paige: "At least he became a Whitelighter." Phoebe:
"Yeah, to go off and help the greater good. Doesn't exactly keep your bed warm at night, either." Piper: "Maybe it's not so
bad, Priests have to sacrifice a love life to help humanity…why should we be any different?" With a sigh, the sisters
contemplate their spinsterhood. Until Drake, having heard enough, intervenes, "No, no, no, no, no…you can't give up
on love. Love is beautiful, love is life, love is amore, it's the whole reason I'm here." Paige: "I thought you were here
to teach at Magic School?" Drake: "Oh never mind that. Point is, you're young, vibrant, the best years ahead of you…"
Phoebe: "Drake, you're sweet, and we appreciate you trying. But, we have to go on fighting, you're dead at three AM." Drake:
"Well you might as well die with me if you give up on love. Life is nothing without it. Don't you see? Piper and Leo's is
epic. Like Romeo and Juliet, Anthony and Cleopatra, Liz and Richard…" Piper: "All tragedies, can I mention?" Drake:
"Yes, well, it's better to have loved and lost, yada, yada, yada. And anyway, this one's not lost yet. You just have to find
Leo." Paige: "If the Elders don't want us to find him, we won't." Drake tells her not to say that, the Elders said they were
leaving it up to him and they're wasting time the longer he's out, the harder it'll be to find him. "Unless you'd rather sit
around feeling sorry for yourselves." Piper: "Hey - I just lost my husband. Cut me some slack here." Phoebe, oddly enough,
the voice of reason, "Know what, guys…he's right. Come on, this is Leo and Piper we're talking about…we can't
just five up without a fight. Drake and I'll see what we can dig up magically." Paige: "I guess I can start at Magic School…see
if the Elders left any clues." Phoebe: "Piper, you call Darryl, if Leo's mortal now, maybe the best way to find him is through
the police…let's go guys…it may be our last shot at love." Paige orbs out, Phoebe and Drake head up the steps.
Piper shakes her head, not sure of it all, then goes to stand, but gets dizzy and instantly falls back.
INT. Bainville
Police Station - Day
In a small one-room station, not much has changed except for the computer the officer is now working
at. Leo's getting fingerprinted by the Sheriff. Sheriff Taylor: "That ought'a do it. We'll get you into the system and be
on the road to finding out who you really are." Leo thanks him. Sheriff Taylor: "You are you don't remember anything? I mean,
normally people with amnesia remember…something." Leo: "I wish I did." Taylor: "You don't recall being hit on the head?
Any sort of accident at all that could have caused this?" Leo shakes his head, frustrated. Sheriff Taylor: "Well, we know
you're one of the good guys anyway, you saved Clyde's life." Leo: "Yeah, after causing the accident." Taylor: "Hey, he shouldn't
have been yacking on his cell phone - I don't care if he was out in the middle of nowhere. It's a pet peeve of mine, I tell
people all the time. The paramedics tell me the way you fixed up that leg of his looked professional." Leo: "Instinct…I
guess." Sheriff Taylor: "Seems to me you might be a doctor? Medic? Any of that ring a bell?" Leo, fed up, "No. I told you….nothing's
ringing any bells." Taylor: "Okay, relax, it'll come back to you. Almost always does." He moves to the computer, "See that?
Glen's got you in the database already." The door behind them slams, startling Leo as he whips around, palms out, as if ready
to fire an Elder blast. Suddenly, we're in Leo's mind again, in a demon's lair, Leo holding a demon aloft with the Elder blast.
Just as suddenly, the image is gone and see that an old farmer has just closed the door. He tips his hat to Leo and walks
quickly past. Sheriff Taylor: "Hey, you're bound to be a bit jumpy - I'm guessing you've been through some kind of hell getting
here." Leo: "Yeah, sort of looks that way." Sheriff Taylor: "Well how 'bout you go across the street for something to eat
while I sift through that computer file. Tell Nadine it's on me." Leo: "Isn't there something more I can do?" Sheriff Taylor:
"Not really. Chances are you've got loved ones out there looking for you…that's always the key. Once we get the word
out, they'll find you soon enough."
INT. Manor - Attic - Day
Phoebe: "We'll never find him. Not scrying
anyway. Won't make it to sunset at the Taj Mahal either. I feel terrible for ruining your last day." Drake: "Don't apologize,
this is exactly how I want to spend it." Phoebe: "In a dingy attic?" Drake: "Helping those I'm leaving behind." Phoebe: "And
that's another irritating thing…you're hell bent on saving Piper and Leo, but you won't even let me try to save you."
Drake closes the Book and moves over to Phoebe, "Because I don't matter. Love matters. Besides, I made a deal and I plan to
honor it." Phoebe: "It was a deal with a demon! We're the good guys, Charmed Ones for God Sake, let us help you…" Drake:
"But don't you see - I've done all I need to do to die a happy man. Well, all but one thing…" Phoebe: "See the Niagara
Falls?" Drake: "Make sure you don't give up on love." Phoebe: "Oh please…not that again." Drake: "Well if you weren't
so dense I wouldn't have to repeat myself." Phoebe: "I'm realistic. I've been beaten up by love enough times to think maybe
I'm meant to live without it." Drake: "Phoebe, all great heroes reach a point on their journey when they suffer doubts. Don
Quixote, Helen of Troy, Odysseus, even Aragorn." Phoebe: "And let's see if they'd all still be fighting windmills or looking
for rings 150 chapters later." Drake: "You have to trust me on this, I've been demonic without love, human with, so I know.
It's miraculous, transcendent…and it can save Piper and Leo." Phoebe: "I pray you're right, cause if THEY can't make
it, I'm joining the nunnery." They're interrupted by Paige orbing in from Magic School, "Well, it looks like the Elders had
an original thought for once - there's no precedent for what they did to Leo." Phoebe: "We got zilch here, too. Just like
I thought…can't scry for someone that no longer exists." Paige: "Let me try…maybe my Whitelighter side can tap
into something in him. It'd be nice to have some good news to report to Piper."

Morris: "Leo's only fingerprints are from World War 2. He's young, people won't think
to go that far back." Piper: "So it's hopeless." Morris: "No, we'll find him, I promise…it just might take a little
time." Piper: "How long? Long enough that he could have another wife? Kids? A whole new life? THAT'S NOT OKAY." Morris: "Easy,
Piper, we'll file a missing person's report and get his information up on the FBI web site…" Piper: "Then what…we
wait?" Morris: "No, the missing person's unit can access every list out there. If Leo's on one, we'll know. And I'll start
calling other units myself, see if anything recent came in…" Piper, even more worried, pacing faster now, "Darryl, it's
always something. How long can Leo and I go one fighting fate?" Morris, thinking it's an anxiety attack, tries to calm her,
"Piper, take a deep breath…" Piper: "I don't need to breathe, I need to find my husband. Just find Leo." As she hangs
up, the world seems to spin around her. Desperate, she prays, "What do I do now? Please…send me a sign." Light-headed,
Piper glances down at the thorn prick from earlier and just as she realizes what's happening, she falls. Everything goes black
for an instant. Then her eyes open, she's okay, the rises, shaking it off then starts for the stairs. But, feeling something
is off, she looks back and gasps. Her body is sprawled on the ground. Piper swallows hard, "Oh my God…am I…am
I dead?" Voice from nowhere: "No." Piper looks behind her to the living room doorway to see….COLE! He's leaning against
the door jam as if he never left. He flashes a smile and adds, "…well, not yet anyway."

I'm not planning on stirring things up." Spirit Piper: "Except you always create chaos. It's who you are." Cole: "Then why'd

Paige and Phoebe, who've just seen her body. "Oh God…Piper!" Spirit Piper watches as her sisters and Drake run downstairs
to her body. Phoebe shakes her, "Piper…wake up!" Cole stays in the living room as Spirit Piper moves over to them. "Guys…hey
guys! I'm right here…" Cole: "They can't hear or see you." Paige: "That Thorn Demon - I knew we should've had Leo heal
this." Phoebe: "This could also be from the shock of losing Leo." Drake: "Probably a little of both." Spirit Piper: "Hey…over
here!!" Frustrated, Spirit Piper grabs something to throw…or rather, tries to, but her hand goes right through it. Cole;
"Nice try." Spirit Piper: "Shut up." Drake: "I've run into a few Thorn Demons myself, those pricks are vicious…no pun
intended…the poison works slowly, but it can be fatal." He picks Piper's body up and heads to the conservatory. Phoebe:
"Okay, FATAL? I don't think we have any choice here guys - we need to call an Elder to heal her." Spirit Piper: "Over my dead

nothing we can do about any of it." Drake: "There is something we can do…we can find Leo." Paige: "Except he can't heal
her anymore." Drake: "Actually, he's the only one who can. Weren't you listening to my whole love rant? That's what's going
on here." Phoebe: "You're saying Piper's heartsick?" Spirit Piper; "That's ridiculous." Drake: "Yes, and she could die. It
happens all the time to the bereaved after a loved one passes. Even if we heal her, she NEEDS Leo." Cole, from the living
room, "Pay attention. He could be on to something." Spirit Piper: "Oh, what do you know?" Paige: "Then we should go help Darryl,
see if we can't speed things up." Spirit Piper; "It's a poison thorn for God's sake…anyone think to look in the Book?"
Drake: "I'll check the Book and do whatever I can to heal Piper from this end." Spirit Piper is clearly relieved. Phoebe considers
it, then, "Promise to call if she gets any worse?" Drake promises and tells them to go. Phoebe moves over to Paige and they

Piper: "Oh great. So I'm stuck with you?" Cole: "No, you can get out. I'm the one who's here for all eternity." Spirit Piper:
"Paying penance for your evil past, I bet." Cole: "You always were the smart one." Spirit Piper: "Oh cut the crap…"

end up like me, and THIS is the thanks I get?" Spirit Piper: "I know what this is…it's all a ploy to break out of your
ungodly plane and back into our lives. Ah! See, I'm right, aren't I?" Cole: "I'll be the first to admit I'm not above having

The buzz of the crowd drowns
out a talk show on TV above the counter. In the corner, a young couple snuggles. An waitress, Nadine, removes a berry stained
plate from in front of Leo, replacing it with another slice of pie. Nadine: "Looks like you worked up an appetite being a
hero out there this morning." Nadine grins at Leo, "Since it's on the house, maybe you'd like to try something a bit more
substantial." Leo: "No, this is amazing. Don't think I ever tasted anything this good." Nadine, amused, "I'd take that as
a compliment, 'cept you can't even remember tying your own shoe laces this morning.. But you have someone somewhere who cooks
for you just fine…once it all comes back to you." Leo suddenly stops eating. Nadine: "I'm sorry, I tend to stick my
foot in it…" Le: "No, it's okay, I just…wish I could remember." He goes for another forkful of pie and notices,
for the first time, the shadow on his ring finger. Nadine watches as he cautiously touches the empty spot, "See, looks like
I'm right, there is a gal out there waiting for you." For the third time, we're in Leo's mind, he's on his knees, looking
up at someone and it's clear he just asked her to marry him. Just as quick as it came, it's gone. Nadine: "Unless of course
she dumped you…" Leo: "No…" Nadine: "Maybe smacked you with some cast iron for cheating on her. Fact, wish I thought
of that myself when I found my husband cheatin' on me." Leo: "She didn't dump me." Nadine: "You remembering something?" Leo:
"Just…a feeling." Leo looks around, hoping to see something that will trigger his memory and hears "Mommy, mommy…"
Two boys, 5 and 4, run away from Nadine's sister and charge in. Leo turns to watch them, emotional, as Nadine hugs them, "Hey,
boys, where ya been? I missed you." She looks over to Leo, but is surprised to find he's no longer sitting on the stool. He's
just…gone. She stands and catches a glimpse of him walking away outside.

the hood slams shut and we see…it's Odin! Leo doesn't recognize him and Odin plays coy, "Can I help you?" Leo: "Uh…I'm
not sure. Are you going to…San Francisco, by any chance?" Odin: "I'm headed in that general direction…why, you
need a ride?" Leo: "Yeah, I do…" Odin, "Climb in…" Odin climbs in as Leo takes a beat, then follows. The rig pulls

We'll fax over a photo. Thanks." She hangs up with a huge sigh, "A hundred and fifty down, a bazillion more police stations
to go. Talk about needle in a haystack." Phoebe: "I know it's daunting, but we've gotta keep looking, we can't give up." Paige:
"Maybe that Elder doesn't really want us to." Phoebe: "What do you mean?" Paige: "I don't know, it just seemed like she was
trying to tell us something, or at least, tell Piper something. Why else would she have told her not to give up hope if all
hope is lost?" Phoebe: "You saying you think this is some kind of a…test?" Paige: "Well, if it is, we'd better pass

Leo's description, my guys came up with two more so far." Phoebe: "Any way to speed things up here?" Morris: "I have as many
men on it as I can without drawing suspicion from Sheridan." Phoebe: "On no, I didn't realize…we're putting you at risk
again, aren't we Darryl?" Morris: "Hey, Leo's risked his butt enough times for me…" A policeman enters and hands Morris
a sheet, "This looked like something you might want to see…a John Doe just saved some guy's life in Montana." The officer
exits and Paige, into the phone: "Yeah, okay…send us a photo. There's a guy in Redding sounds like Leo, problem is…he's
dead." Morris: "That couldn't be him." Paige: "Actually, it could…Leo's mortal now." As this sinks in, it only adds
to the urgency. Morris: "Look, fastest way to check out all these leads is for you two to check each one personally." He hands
Phoebe some papers, "I'll stay here, see if any more leads pop up." Paige and Phoebe, nodding, grab the leads they've got
so far and hurry out.

Drake's at the Book flipping through it, "Come on, come on…there's
gotta be a remedy in here somewhere, doesn't there? Can't let her die before Leo gets here now, can we? Come on damnit!" The
Book suddenly flies across the room. Drake: "Sorry, guess I let a bit of the ol' demon side slip out." He sheepishly moves
to the Book, "Won't let it happen again. Promise." He reaches for it and it moves just out of his reach. Drake: "I said I
was sorry, now come on…" He reaches again, and gets it, setting it on his lap as he goes back to turning the pages,
looking closer. He finds the page Leo wrote…and reads the 'title' out loud. He then begins to read more carefully.

Cole lounges in the armchair as Spirit Piper paces. "Relax, you're not going anywhere." Spirit
Piper: "No? Watch me…" She takes off running full force at the wall and disappears through it. Cole shakes his head,
"Stubbornness is definitely a family trait." He turns to the wall and calls out, "You've tried going upstairs twice, out the
front door four times and through the walls five…" Suddenly, Spirit Piper comes flying backwards out of the wall and
across the room to land on her butt and Cole continues, "…make that SIX times. But hey, you haven't tried the chimney
yet." Spirit Piper gets up, miffed, "Thought ghosts could do any damn place they pleased." Cole explains, again, that she's
not a ghost, but she will be if she doesn't start trusting him. Piper tells him the last time a Halliwell trusted him, she
ended up bearing his demonic spawn. Cole: "Not one of my finer moments. But Phoebe'll make a great mom, can you blame me for
wanting to be the dad?" Spirit Piper tells him he's wasting his time. Cole: "Is that any way to treat family?" Spirit Piper;
"This is getting on my nerves." Cole; "What? That I know you so well? Don't forget, I go back to Prue, you and Dan, now Leo…in
fact, Leo and I are a lot alike. We both tried to change the world to save our marriages." Spirit Piper: "You are NOTHING
like Leo. And just because we have a history doesn't mean you know squat about love." Cole; "Wrong. See, like it or not, Phoebe
and I were very much in love…" Spirit Piper: "But she fell out of love with you, remember?" Cole: "I'll never forget
it. It's why we were doomed. But Leo and you aren't, what you share is powerful." Spirit Piper: "And what good has it done
us? He's gone and I'm in a coma." Cole can no longer contain his frustration, "Look, you have someone out there that needs
you as much as you need him, and if you don't have faith in that love…" he spins her around so she can see her body…seating
and moaning as if in pain, not looking good, then he continues, "…it's not the only think that'll die."

Nadine is at a booth, filling
the ketchup bottles. The bang of the door causes her to turn and she sees Phoebe and Paige rushing in. "If he's not here we've
got nothing else. LEO!" A quick scan and they see the place is empty. "Damn it, we should've come here first instead of traipsing
all over the map." Phoebe: "Look, he can't be far, that Sheriff said he was here…" then she spots Nadine, "Oh, hi…didn't
see you there, we're looking for…" She digs in her pocket for a picture of Leo and holds it out. Nadine: "I knew a man
like that wouldn't stay lost long." Phoebe: "Who? You mean you've seen him?" Nadine: "Yep. Nice guy. Left over an hour ago
in a rig with the Golden Gate Bridge on it. Never seen the driver before." Paige: "I'll get Darryl to radio the highway patrol…"
She pulls out her cell as Phoebe glances outside, then back at Nadine, "We have to find him fast…our sister's life depends
on it. We need a car…"
INT. Big Rig Cab - Highway - Day
Odin: "It's a bumpy ride." Leo looks out the window
as Odin drives. An old plastic ball compass suction-cupped to the windshield tells him they're heading west. Odin: "Newer
rigs have better shocks, but hey, maybe it'll jog your memory." Leo: "It does feel like it's starting to come back some…I
know somebody out there needs me." Odin: "I'm not surprised…I heard how you saved that man's life back there, pulled
him from a wreck." Leo: "Anyone else would've done the same thing." Odin: "You're wrong there. Not everyone has the calling.
Maybe that means that there's a whole lot of somebody's out there who needs you. Maybe it's the love of helping others that
you're really looking for. You obviously have the healing touch." Leo: "Oh I don't know about that. Still, it definitely felt
familiar. Like I had a purpose." Odin: "Perhaps you were working for the greater good…you know, helping people…when
you lost your memory. Maybe deep down you know whoever those folks are still need you." Leo: "Guess I'll just have to hand
in there till I can remember." Odin: "Listen to that inner voice, son…follow it, trust it." Leo, smiling, "You sound
more like a man of the cloth than a truck driver." Odin: "In a way maybe I am…you learn a lot about life on the road,
gives you plenty of time to think about what really matters. Sure, it's lonely sometimes, but I take heart in knowing that
whatever sacrifices I make, personally, I'm bringing people what they need. To me, that's what it's all about. Listen, I'll
be heading up North soon, you're welcome to join us." Leo: "Us?" Odin: "You know, just…others who think like I do, who
like to help. Course, if you think you're meant to be somewhere else, that's okay, too…it's up to you."

Cole: "I'm not quite sure what's so hard to grasp…love transcends every plane of existence,
all you need to do is believe in it with every thread of your being and send it out to Leo." Spirit Piper: "I'm sorry, but
I can't do that. I don't even know what it means." Cole: "I never could get through to you. Okay, the simplest way I can put
it is that it's like a dog whistle only a lover can hear. It's why it didn't matter if Phoebe was a mermaid or a mummy, I
always sensed when something was wrong…" Spirit Piper: "So why isn't Leo sensing me right now?" Cole: "I'm sure he is,
but he doesn't know who you are, and he may not figure it out till it's too late." Something suddenly hits Piper, "It's odd
how invested you are in this, seeing how I vanquished you." Cole: "Well, you know, bygones and all…but you're changing
the subject." Spirit Piper: "Because I want you to tell me what's really going on." Cole: "Look, I said I'd help you save
Leo, what else do you need to know?" Spirit Piper; "I need to know what you're avoiding." Cole; "Me? You're the one who can't
face the truth about love." Spirit Piper: "Cole, I know you well enough to know there's something you're not telling me. You
want me to trust you? Then you're going to have to come clean." Cole: "Fine. Maybe I do have an ulterior motive. Maybe I'm
here because I still love Phoebe…and I can't let her give up on love. I can't." Spirit Piper: "Isn't it a little late?
Shouldn't you have thought of that before you went evil on her?" Cole; "Look, I know it's all my fault. I hurt her so badly
she's afraid to ever trust again. Why do you think I'm here?" Spirit Piper; "But you're talking to me, not Phoebe." Cole;
"She'd never listen to me…even if we were on the same plane. And I can't blame her. But I'd do anything to heal the
damage I've caused. Anything. That's why you and Leo HAVE to make it." Spirit Piper: "Because if we don't, Phoebe will lose
faith in love for good. Is that it?" Cole: "All I want is to know Phoebe will have the love she deserves. If it means I have
to save you and Leo in the process, oh well. Piper, please…I HAVE to help Phoebe…you're my last hope." Spirit
Piper: "Once again I'm both moved AND repulsed. Okay, fine. How do I do this love-beacon thing?" Cole: "No, no, no you're
still fighting, you have to let go so you can move on to the next cosmic plane." Spirit Piper: "You mean the one where I'm…DEAD?"
Cole: "I know it sounds crazy, but it's the only way to jolt Leo's memory back." Spirit Piper: "I can't…I have a family,
boys that need me. No, I won't do it. Besides, it doesn't even make sense." Cole; "Yes, it does. Think about how a person
half way around the world knows the instant their lover's hit by a car…it's because they're stuck with a sudden burst
of love. And that kind of severe heart shock can only come out of total loss. You have to let go…you have to die."

"I believe that."

Odin: "You need to make a choice, every man does." Leo: "I know." Odin: "Your destiny's in front

decision."
EXT. Big Rig (continuous)
Phoebe and Paige run up to the cab to see Leo through the window,
looking away from them at Odin. Paige; "Thank God, he's here…LEO!" Leo looks down at the sisters with a blank look.
"Sorry, do I know you?" Odin leans forward, revealing himself to them. Phoebe: "What're you doing here? What did you do to
him?" Odin: "I let destiny run it's course. So should you." Phoebe: "Paige, grab Leo!" But it's too late. Odin touches Leo's
shoulder first and the orb out. The sisters look at each other in stunned disbelief. They found Leo…only to lose him
five seconds later.

Paige, Phoebe
and Drake orb in to find Piper, clearly dying, on the couch where they left her. "Oh my God…Piper." Phoebe feels for
a pulse then turns on Drake, "She's dying…you said you'd get us if she got worse." Drake: "I did. This JUST happened,
she was fine, and then…all of a sudden…" Phoebe: "Damn Elders, if they hadn't taken Leo…" Paige: "Guys,
much as we despise the Elders, we need them right now to heal her." Drake: "Only it won't do any good…even if they heal
her body, only Leo can heal her broken spirit." Paige: "Yeah, well, unfortunately Leo chose Elders over Piper…we can't
force him to remember her." Cole: "But YOU can. And you'd better do it fast. Trust me, it's your only hope…", he glances
towards Phoebe, "…and hers too." Finally, Spirit Piper makes up her mind. She closes her eyes and goes transparent then
rises to drift to her body. At the couch, Paige, Drake and Phoebe are in mid-debate as Piper lets out a loud gasp. The others
turn, "What was that?" Piper, barely a whisper, "Leo…Leo…" Phoebe reacts, "I know what to do…Paige, orb
me to the bridge." Paige: "What? We can't just leave her here." Drake, jumping in, "I'll work on the body, you two work on
the spirit." He looks to Phoebe, who holds his gaze, with a nod, she turns to Paige, "Bridge. Now." They orb out as Drake
breathes a sigh of relief then, surprisingly shimmers out. Now, there's just Cole, watching from the living room, secretly
praying this all works out.
EXT. Golden Gate Bridge - Night
The wind blows as Paige and Phoebe call up, "We
know you have him…bring Leo down here NOW!" Odin orbs in with Leo, who's not wearing Elder robes once again. Phoebe
and Paige instantly step in between Leo and Odin. "Leo, thank God. Piper's dying…" Leo: "Leo? I'm sorry, who…?"
Odin: "As you see, Leo found his path." Phoebe: "With you leading him there. How's that a fair test?" Odin: "I knew you'd
be looking for him, I was only trying to even things out." Paige, desperately, to Leo, "You have to come home. Piper needs
you." Leo: "And I'm there for her, just like I am for all those in need." Paige: "This wasn't a test, this was more like some
kind of sick reality show and he was the prize." Odin: "Call it what you want, it's done." Phoebe: "NO, it is NOT done. Because
Piper and Leo are still in love. You can wipe his memory but you can't wipe that. It's in him, in every fiber of his being.
And it will seep back into his consciousness until he remembers Piper!" Odin: "I understand this is a great loss, you'll need
time to mourn." Phoebe: "No, actually we don't. Because Leo WILL be back, you can't keep him from Piper. We're talking about
an epic love here…it's bigger than you or the Elders or us or any of this…" As Phoebe talks, Leo starts to drift
back from the group, as if hearing something but not sure what…
INT. Manor - Conservatory - Night
Piper
on the couch, near death, and with her last breath…barely audible, "Leo…" Her arm drops, dangling limply from
the couch as Piper dies.
EXT. Golden Gate Bride - Night
Leo jerks back slightly, as if hit by something
unseen. His eyes widen with awareness as he suddenly turns towards the ledge. Phoebe notices first, "LEO!?" Odin and paige
whip around to see…Leo on the edge of the bridge, arms out. Phoebe: "Leo! What are you doing??" But Leo hears what no
one else can…Piper, calling him to her. Then as sudden as it is shocking, Leo swan dives off the bridge!
EXT.
Golden Gate Bridge - Sidewalk - Night
A narrow hidden walkway by a pillar, Leo, in street clothes now, falls into frame
and lands face down with a brutal, bone crushing thud. Panicked, Phoebe and Paige orb in, "Oh please…no…" Odin
finally orbs in, too. Paige: "What the hell just happened?" Odin: "He fell from grace…" Hopeful now, Phoebe rolls Leo
over. Amazingly, he opens his eyes, bloody and bruised, but alive...and he knows! "Phoebe? Piper needs me…you gotta
take me to her…" Odin: "Apparently destiny has spoken, he's mortal now…you'd better hurry."
INT. Manor

Drake sits on the edge of the couch next to Piper, blocking Piper's face from view as Phoebe,
Paige and Leo orb in. Drake turns to them, "You're too late…" The sisters and Leo stare in stunned disbelief, it can't
be. Though Drake quickly adds, "Wyatt already healed her." He stands to reveal Piper smiling up at Wyatt, who's next to her.
Phoebe: "Piper! Oh thank God…" Leo: "You're okay!" Overwhelmed, Leo heads straight for his wife and they embrace like
they'll never let go. Paige, confused, turns to Drake for answers, "How'd you know Wyatt could do that?" Drake: "I didn't…"
he gestures towards Leo, "…but he did. Wrote it in the Book…you've got a second generation Whitelighter here."
Phoebe kneels next to Wyatt, "You healed your mommy? I am so proud of you…you are such a big, big guy…" Drake:
"Didn't even take much prodding from Uncle Drake, did it kiddo?" Piper, realizes, to Leo, "That's what you were working on…in
case you didn't come back." Leo: "But I am back, thanks to you. That was amazing…it was like you were calling to me…like
you were right with me…" Piper: "I had a good coach. An old friend…I'll explain later." Leo: "Doesn't matter,
all that does is that I'll never, ever leave you again." Piper: "Shush. I'm just glad you're home." She kisses him, then pulls
back and opens her arms, "Come here you." And little Wyatt joins them for a well-deserved family hug.

Drake: "'Like as the waves make towards the pebbled shore, so do our minutes hasten to their end'…"
Phoebe: "I sure am gonna miss ol' Shakespeare." Drake: "Ah, that's why I've kept this for you…the complete works…to
peruse at your leisure." Phoebe: "Can't believe it's already two weeks…pretty amazing what happened." Drake: "Yes, it
has been a whirlwind, the burlesque, Sherwood Forest, and to top it off…a real life Romeo and Juliet." Phoebe: "Oh that?
That's just a typical week for us. What I'm talking about is how you made me forget my run of messing up…the past year…all
that Avatar stuff…" Drake: "Well, you're Charmed, but you're also human." Phoebe: "I know, but I don't think I could
keep doing what we do if I hadn't forgiven myself. So…thank you. I just wish I could repay you." Drake: "I couldn't
think of a better day to die than this. I helped you believe in love again, didn't I? Hmm…didn't I?" Phoebe: "Yes."
Drake: "Well there you go! If that doesn't get me into heaven, I don't know what will." Phoebe: "I won't forget what you did
for me…guess I fell for the right guy this time." Drake, quoting again, "Parting is such sweet sorrow." Then adds, "I
never knew what that meant until now." Phoebe: "There's something I have to know before you go…how is it you came into
my life at exactly the right time?" Drake: "Guess a little bird told me?" Phoebe: "Come on, I've been doing this long enough
to tell when there's more to something than meets the eye." Drake: "Ah, yes, there's magic and mystery in all things. And
times a'tickin'…I've left my reference books for the next instructor, brought a little wisdom to young minds and saved
an epic love. Now I must be off…wouldn't want you to see my messy demise." With that, Drake heads out to the study without
looking back. Phoebe watches him go, saying to herself, "I'm going to miss you…"
INT. Magic School - Study (continuous)
Drake:
"So? Are we even now?" Suddenly, Cole materializes! "You did a good job, buddy." Drake: "Thanks. So did you." The clock begins
to chime. Drake: "Well, here I go…" on the third dong, Drake's body collapses. His sprit remains standing, however,
"Ashes to ashes…" he says, as he looks at his corpse, then it explodes into dust and disappears. Cole; "If it's any
consolation, you did all I asked for. You saved Phoebe." Drake: "Hey, you set me up with the demon that gave me life…I'd
have done anything. I only wish I could save you, too." Cole, shrugging, "I've come to terms with my fate…especially
since now I know it won't be Phoebe's too." Drake: "She's an amazing woman, Cole. You did a good thing." With that, Drake's
spirit drifts upwards as Cole watches it go, then he takes one last look around and dematerializes.
INT. Manor - Piper's
Bedroom - Morning
Piper rolls over and reaches for Leo but…he's not there. She sits up, worried, but spots him
staring out the window at the dawning of a new day. "Leo, are you okay?" Leo: "I can't believe it…I don't have powers,
I don't hear jingles, I can't orb anymore…" Piper: "Is that…bad?" Leo: "Are you kidding, it's great! It's all
I've wanted since I met you." Piper's mix of relief and joy makes her jump up and hug him, "Me, too." They kiss until a child's
cry breaks the moment. Leo pulls away and gazes lovingly at Piper, "Hey, we wanted normal…" Piper smiles and turns,
"You take Wyatt, I got Chris." Leo: "Wait!" He grabs her to pull her back for another kiss, then…"I'm thinking eggs
and pancakes this morning…how 'bout you?" Piper: "Sounds perfect." He takes her hand as they head out to start a new
day, unlike any of the hundred and fifty that have come before…as close to normal as a Charmed family can be.
